2025 Referendum

Information

A Message from District Administrator Keith Crispell

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, the District will ask residents to vote on an operational referendum. The question on the ballot will be as follows:

Shall the School District of Prentice, Price, Oneida and Lincoln Counties, Wisconsin be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $950,000 per year for 4 years, beginning with the 2025-2026 school year and ending with the 2028-2029 school year, for non-recurring purposes consisting of operational and maintenance expenses, including student programming, facility maintenance, and staff salaries and Benefits?”

The Prentice School District continues to be very successful offering academics and instruction that has students meeting expectations within the department of public instruction’s requirements. Through our approach we understand that all students learn differently. Traditional school choices, and the Rural Virtual Academy are choices offered to foster education. The Prentice School District continues to be a fiscally responsible partner with taxpayer dollars. Some of the specific cost-saving measures recently implemented are as follows:

  • Grants written to help supplement the current education of students.
  • State grants of technology improvements for staff instruction and student learning.
  • Federal grants to provide safety measures throughout the school.
  • Regional grants to provide equipment for the kitchen.
  • Fundraising of pledges, donations and grants to construct the track and purchase all of the athletic equipment.
  • Fundraising for extracurricular activities such as band, choir, and athletics which free up general funds.

The Prentice School District and Community have been known for being highly supportive of our schools and education of all our students. We are a small rural school district with a strong heartbeat. Our teaching staff is a fantastic blend of veterans and younger teachers that want to give the students of the district the very best. Thank you for all of your support over the years.

Public meetings will be held at various times and locations to provide our residents with first-hand information about the referendum, the reasons why our district needs to go to referendum, and to answer any questions that you may have. If you would like some more information, please contact me at (715) 428-2811 ext. 2003. We appreciate your attention to this information and thank you for being informed about the Prentice School District Referendum 2025.
