School District Van Driver Needed

The Prentice School District is seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and student-centered individual to serve as a Van Driver. The Van Driver is responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation for students to and from school.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely transport students
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful environment while transporting students.
  • Follow assigned routes, schedules, and transportation requests.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, school administrators, parents, and students.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of required background checks and pre-employment screenings.
  • Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and abilities.

Work Schedule

  • Part-time position with split shifts as assigned.
  • Additional hours may be available for field trips, athletic events, and special activities.

Compensation

Paraprofessional Needed

The Prentice School District is a seeking dedicated, compassionate, and student-centered Paraprofessional to support students and staff across the school buildings and grade levels. Under the direction of licensed teachers and administrators, paraprofessionals assist in providing a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment that promotes student success both academically and socially. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, value teamwork, and are committed to helping all students reach their full potential.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with daily classroom instruction and learning activities.
  • Provide individual and small-group instructional support as directed by certified staff.
  • Support students with academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs.
  • Help supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, playgrounds, and during school activities.
  • Reinforce classroom expectations and positive behavior strategies.
  • Assist with preparing instructional materials and classroom organization.
  • Support students with organizational skills, assignments, and classroom participation.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and records.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or supervising teacher.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree, completion of two years of post-secondary education, or ability to meet Wisconsin DPI paraprofessional requirements preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated patience, flexibility, professionalism, and a positive attitude.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the school day.
  • Ability to assist students with mobility and classroom activities as needed.

The School District of Prentice currently has a vacancy on its staff for a Middle School level English teacher.  The position will begin with the start of the 2026 – 2027 school year.  Knowledge of and proven abilities to effectively teach English is required.  Mastery of individual foundational skills and classroom management are required.  Previous successful classroom teaching is preferred.  Other subject matter or co-curricular certifications or licenses, and willingness to advise and/or coach at the middle and/or high school levels are helpful to an individual’s candidacy.

School Custodian Needed

The Prentice School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of School Custodian

Position Type: 10 month position

Salary: Hourly rate based upon experience

Position Summary

Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will take pride in keeping school facilities in excellent condition and will be committed to supporting a positive educational atmosphere.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and other school facilities.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors as needed.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers.
  • Maintain building security by locking and unlocking doors according to established schedules.
  • Set up and arrange furniture and equipment for meetings, events, and school activities.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and report repair needs to supervisors.
  • Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies.
  • Assist with snow removal, and seasonal cleanup as required.
  • Follow all safety procedures and district policies.
  • Respond to emergency cleaning situations promptly and professionally.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment and tools safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, standing, climbing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Successful completion of background check and any required screenings.

Kitchen Assistant Needed

The Prentice School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Kitchen Assistant

Position Type: Nine-month position

Salary/Hourly: $16 per hour

Position Summary

The kitchen assistant provides support to the head cook in preparing meals, prepping the serving line and dining area as well as cleanup after meals. This position requires punctuality, communication, safe food handling training as well as the ability to work collaboratively with staff. This position supports the Food Service Department in providing safe, nutritious meals to students and staff while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with food preparation and meal service.
  • Serve food to students and staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Operate kitchen equipment according to established procedures.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and food service equipment.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, serving lines, tables, and kitchen surfaces.
  • Stock supplies and assist with inventory as directed.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and district health guidelines.
  • Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Cook or Food Service Manager.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff, students, and the public.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is desirable.

Bus Drivers Needed

The School District of Prentice has a school bus driver vacancy. This position will assist with routes, events, and field trips. This position will begin as soon as possible.

Requirements of the position include:

  • Possession of a CDL. Training will be provided to obtain school bus driver endorsements.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate with students, parents, and school officials in order to provide a safe ride to and from school.
  • A demonstration of excellent school bus driving skills are also required.
